The “tube” could be undermining your weight loss efforts, according to new research. If you eat in front of the TV and are not seeing the results you want despite taking Phentermine 37.mg, read on. You might be sabotaging your efforts without realizing it.
New research published in the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.suggests keeping the television off while you eat dinner or any other meal reduces the risk of obesity in adults. This could be because many people “mindlessly nosh” while watching their favorite programs, whether going for seconds and thirds of their dinner meal or consuming chips straight from the bag.
Eating home-cooked meals also plays a significant role in weight loss. Restaurant food is notoriously-high in bad fat and sodium, and often results in serious weight gain.
“How often you are eating family meals may not be the most important thing. It could be that what you are doing during these meals matters more,” said study lead author Rachel Tumin. She is survey and population health analyst manager at the Ohio Colleges of Medicine Government Resource Center at Ohio State University.
“This highlights the importance of thinking critically about what is going on during those meals, and whether there might be opportunities to turn the TV off or do more of your own food preparation,” said Tumin, who worked on the study as a doctoral student.
The researchers found those who ate home-cooked meals without the television on enjoyed the lowest risk of obesity. Doing so also benefits emotional and mental health, as family members engage with each other more instead of sitting in front of the TV and not talking.
