    I have a tip for fall. Usually when the summer is ending, Fall beginning, the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Markets are about to close. Ours in WA state sell a vast array of squash at great prices (compared to Supermarkets). Squash keeps for months in cool dark places, so stock up on a huge variety, or your favorites. Bake squash several times a week, with other root vegetables. Baking/broasting brings out the flavor and sweetness in root vegetables. I make ample supplies of baked and broiled vegetable, then use the leftover for soups. Freeze them too, to use later. Also, I bake the squash seeds to eat as snacks. Season them up and bake till crispy. Yum.
